To appoint a second outside body representative to Banbury Charities in light of Councillor Colin Clarke taking over the chairmanship of Banbury Charities which leaves a vacancy for a CDC outside body representative.
Resolved
(1) That, further to the delegated authority given by Executive as its meeting of 6 June 2022, Minute 11 (2), Councillor Phil Chapman be appointed as a Cherwell District Council outside body representative on Banbury Charities to replace Councillor Colin Clarke.
At the 6 June 2022 Executive meeting, Councillors Colin Clarke and Ian Harwood were appointed as Cherwell District Council’s (CDC) outside body representatives on Banbury Charities. Councillor Clarke has taken over Chairmanship of Banbury Charities and is therefore no longer a CDC outside body representative. It is therefore necessary to appoint a second CDC representative to Banbury Charities.
The following alternative options have been identified and rejected for the reasons as set out below.
Option 1: Not to appoint a second representative. This is not recommended as Banbury Charities have previously had two CDC representatives and having only one could negatively impact on their work
