To implement the decision of the Executive of 3 October 2022 in relation food vouchers.

Resolved

(1)          That funding of £352,000 be released to cover the costs of providing eligible residents with up to £100 worth of food vouchers.

The Council approved this initiative at the Executive on 3 October 2022 delegating the scale of the funding to officers in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Healthy Communities and the S151 Officer. Minute 42 refers.

Officers consider that residents in receipt of housing benefit are already known to the Council and can be provided with a voucher requiring no complex processing and very little additional administration. Funds can be distributed quickly to those with a need. The Portfolio Holder for Healthy Communities and s151 Officer have been consulted and support the taking of the decision.
