Decision details

The Oxford to Cambridge Partnership

Decision Maker: Executive

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To update Executive following Government agreement to the Oxford Cambridge Pan Regional Partnership

Reason for urgency: The Government decision to back the Pan Regional Partnership was after the publication of the Forward Plan giving 28 days' notice of items for consideration at February Executive. Given the importance of the matter for the district, a report is being submitted to the February Executive meeting as the next scheduled meeting rather than wait until the March meeting. The decision is key due to the impact across two or more district wards. As the key decision was not included on the Executive Forward Plan giving the required 28 days’ notice, the Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee has agreed to the item being considered.

Decision:

Resolved

(1)           That it be agreed for Cherwell District Council to be part of the Oxford to Cambridge Partnership as it becomes formally recognised and funded by Government as a Pan-Regional Partnership (PRP).

(2)           That the Leader be appointed as the Council’s representative on the Pan Regional Partnership.

Reason Key: Significant Effect on communities in two or more wards;

Reason No Public Access: No

Declarations: None

Subject to Urgent Proceedings: No
