Reason for urgency: The item wasn’t included on the Forward Plan as the terms of letting were only recently agree following negotiations, so it was not possible to include on the Forward Plan sooner. Failure to approve as soon as possible would result in a delay to concluding the letting and the Council loosing rental income. A further risk is that the proposed tenant pulls out of the transaction if there is a need to delay until the next scheduled Executive meeting, which is currently scheduled for 1 July but will be moved to this being the week of the General Election. In the absence of an Overview and Scrutiny Committee Chairman (to be appointed 13 June), all Overview and Scrutiny Committee members have been notified in writing of this item
