Purpose:

Reason for urgency: Decision to be taken by Commercial Director, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, under urgency provisions. A decision must be taken to award the contract for the demolition of th Bolton Road multi storey car park (currently an unsafe structure) and make this into a car park. In order to have this available in time for Christmas we need to award the contract this week and therefore the 28 day notice cannot be given.

The Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee has been notified and a report will be submitted to the September Executive advising of the urgent action taken.

(1)          That the urgent action taken by the Chief Executive in relation to the budget be noted and it be referred to Full Council for noting.

 

(2)          That the urgent action taken by the Commercial Director in relation to the award of the contract be noted.
