Members of the public can observe council and committee meetings which are open to the public. You can address some meetings. Please contact the relevant Democratic Services Officer for more details.
All meetings are webcast, except when exempt items are being considered. If a webcast fails during the meeting and we cannot share the proceedings, the Chairman will adjourn the meeting so that the webcast can be restored. If the issue cannot be resolved, the meeting with either be adjourned and the remaining business will be concluded at a future date, or, at the Chairman's discretion in exceptional circumstances, such as the urgency of the business on the agenda, number of public participants and availability of technical officers, they will decide that the meeting will continue. In this eventality, we confirm that this would accord with the legal provisions for meetings which require voting Members to be present in the room at the time the vote is taken.
